Vivaaaa Las Vegas!

So it goes a little bit like this....

I'M LEAVING FOR VEGAS!

I'm just a smidgen excited! We don't actually fly till tomorrow, but we're leaving today at lunchtime to stay overnight in a hotel at the airport... so it begins.. today!

Sorry I've been absent as of late... I've been shopping, and packing and generally getting things ready, as well as working.

I'll be gone for just over a week but will be back, laden with photos and camera footage ready for you to feast your eyes on. My holiday is going to consist of gambling, a wedding, riding in a hummer limo, Hollywood, lots of shopping and eating scrummy food. Oh, and putting all the weight that I've lost back on. Yay.

Not to rub it in or anything but.. I'm so glad I'm escaping the sudden change in temperature! Although it'll hit me twice as hard when I come back.. but lets not think about that now eh?!

Till next time...

Week 9 - Weightwatchers weigh in!

It's that time again folks!

I've had a pretty bad week regarding eating and definitely haven't been tracking. My exercise hasnt been that much better (it was that time of the month so that was the last thing on my mind). So I was adament that I had put on.

Low and behold I'd lost. Only 0.5lb again, but its a loss, and I just don't get it. Chances are this week I'll work my arse off and not lose.

I have now lost 8.5lbs. No way near my target for Vegas, but still, I'm 8.5lbs lighter. I would like to get up to 10lbs by the time I go. You're probably thinking 'wow, thats only 1.5lb to lose' but my willpower is non-existant right now so I don't want to set myself to fail!

I wanna get some exercise in this weekend but the arch of my foot is really hurting so its hurting to walk, let alone dance on it! Meh.. maybe I'll go on the punch bag instead..

Till next time!

Impress Nails Review

I first found out about these nails through Fleur on YT. If you don't know who FleurdeForce is then you are missing out!

A few months later I received a set in my glossybox. Despite them being a colour that I wouldn't have neccesarily chosen, I was still excited to give them a whirl.

I went to a (The) Bodyshop party at the weekend so i thought that would be a good time to give them a whirl.

The first thing that appealed to me was the fact that these were glue-free. I hate applying false nails with glue, I always seem to get it on my fingertips and I'm picking it off hours later. These were applied via a sticky adhesive that was already on the back of the nail, and removing a sticker would reveal this. The second thing I loved about these nails were the glossy finish. The photo below doesn't do the shine any justice.

Now onto the problems I encountered...

Problem 1 The width of the nails. One nail in particular I had to use a larger nail than my nail bed (finger next to my little one in photo above!). In my opinion it was obvious if you looked close enough. On the flipside of this, I do have petite nails, so I do get this a lot with most false nail packs. PS - Brownie points to anyone that spotted the 'dirt' on my little finger; this was infact foundation that I had just applied to my face. Oops!

Problem 2  The adhesive sticker on the back of the nail was often sometimes difficult to remove, coming off in pieces instead, which made it a lot harder to remove when you had applied almost all your nails and only had 2 fingers to go!

Problem 3 I applied these at approximately 9pm on Friday night. I didn't do much from the time of applying to going to bed (maybe on the laptop at the very most). Saturday morning came, I'd had a shower and then this began to happen...

This happened on approximately 2 of the nails. Then several others just became very jaquered in appearance, like they needed a good file!

The ridge from your finger to where the nail begins was quite high, and this drove me insane. Everytime I ran my fingers through my hair, a piece of hair would get caught in the ridge and you'd be left with a bit of hair wedged into your nail. Not pleasant. When showering and washing your hair, this can become a real pain!

By Saturday mid afternoon, one was half hanging off, so I had to glue it with my own nail glue.

Safe to say, by Sunday morning, this were off. They left little residue on my nails and were fairly simple to remove without the addition of any polish remover to help.

It states they should last up to a week when applied properly. I can honestly say I did everything the instructions told me to. I made sure my own nail bed was clean. I then used the cleaning swab included in the kit, then began to apply the nails, pressing down for around 20 seconds which I thought was reasonable.

There were some positives in there, but the negatives far outweighed this, and I would definitely not be repurchasing any of these again.

Week 8 - WeightWatchers Weigh in!

A day or so late doing this blog, it completely slipped my mind.

This last week has been very similar to the last few weeks in terms of eating. I haven't been all that mindful! It included a full blown Indian (with all the trimmings), a hen night (so a touch of alcohol), 1 takeaway, and a few chocolate bars (and no, not WW ones!). Once again I made my excuses even before I stepped on the scales. However, somehow on gods earth, I managed to lose 0.5lb. Yeah ok ok, I know its only half a pound. Big deal. But to me it is a big deal when I was adament I had either put on, or at the very least stayed the same as the week previous.

My weight loss is so slow, it brings me up to a total weight loss of 8lbs. But considering I've been doing it 8 weeks now, I could have pushed that up much more. My friend started WW approx 2 weeks before me and she has lost 16lbs so far, so you can see the difference in willpower! Although at least I can establish why I've only lost 8lbs. Not trying hard enough and over-eating. Simples.

I think the last few weeks I've managed to bring back with exercise. If it wasn't for my Just Dance 3, I think I would have easy put a bit back on. So cheers Wii! I aim for approx 1hr of (what I like to call) intense dancing, 4 times weekly. Thats enough for me. Its a chore most times so I don't think I'd be able to squeeze a 5th session in any time soon.

September's She Said Beauty - First Experience!

So after last months glossybox I promised myself I'd sample another beauty box, and I settled on She Said Beauty. (I haven't cancelled my GB subscription just yet).

I received my SSB box today and I had already formed negative views on it before even receiving my box.. why? Because they'd only gone and sent everyones box out with someone elses name on! Doh! Kinda shouts out unreliable, but I'm all for 2nd chances so I'll push that aside :-)

Upon receiving my box today I was initially loving the NEON pink outer cardboard box. Barbie eat ya heart out! Anything makes a change to GB's grey and pink one that I've been receiving since May last year! Next I was faced with a yummy mint green box... whats better about this box is its magnetic, although I think GB boxes appear a little stronger, but still, this will brighten up my box collection and add a bit of colour in my life! (or room, should I say).

I kinda knew what SSB looked like inside; pink tissue paper, with a straw like nest for the products to lay in.

The first thing that stood out to me was this food-like packet. Food in a beauty box? But yep, I was right. Popchips! These were SO yummy! And whats better, only 45kcals for this entire bag! They looked like mini poppadoms, tasted like Pom Bears (but better) and low in calories? What more could a girl want before her tea?! A bit of a bizarre concoction - beauty + food in 1 box, but still, a lovely and tasty bonus.

The 2nd thing I eyed up was the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil. A lot of you would have seen this a tonne of times now. Why? Because it was in last months GB, so yeah, I was initially disappointed at first, receiving the same product twice, but I had to remind myself that they were from different beauty boxes, and SSB wasn't to know I was subscribed to GB too. However, after thinking about it, I was kinda glad to receive this product because my other product I stopped using because I wanted to save it for my holida (yeah, it was that good!). Even though I'd only used it a handful of times and the product level didn't seem to be going down at all, so it probably would have lasted me ages anyway, I was still kinda scared I'd run out by the end of the month, but I need not to worry anymore as I have a back-up. Yay!

One product that I'm most excited about is this Green Tea Marvel Gel that claims to exfoliate and get rid of black heads and remove deep layers of dead skin, which sounds rather appealing and invigorating! I'm not a massive sufferer of blackheads but what the hell, I love a new product!
The clay mask sachet is the product I can give or take. I do like masks but I have to be careful as a lot tend to send me into a break out. This is a deep cleansing mask that soaks up excess oil and helps prevent blemishes. I was deliberating taking this to Vegas with me as a mid week treat (with the heat and all that...) but I don't want a break out on holiday and end up looking like a spotty teenage bridesmaid! So might leave this at home.

When I spotted this collection2000 primer, I had mixed feelings. I purchased this exact primer myself only last week so it was disappointing knowing that I had received 2 products I already had. However, I told myself (yet again) that SSB was not to know this (obvs!) so don't judge! On the upside, I absolutely love this product and the finish spray is something I still need to trial. However regarding the brand, collection2000 isn't exactly up there with the most expensive products, which is what I like to see in beauty boxes. (It does make me feel good knowing I'm filling my cupboards with luxurious brands you know!). On the flipside of this, if you end up really liking one of these products, it's no way going to break the bank if you want to make a purchase! Swings and roundabouts and all that....

A very up and down box for me! What were negatives I could simply turn into positives for one reason or another. I am going to keep subscribed to SSB for another few months and see how I get on, however my next bit of research is on JolieBox ;-)

Were you happy with this months' SSB?

Hen Party OOTN!

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend.

I spent it on my future sister-in-law's long awaited hen party. We spent the majority of the day at the races, followed by a session from James Morrison. We then jumped back on our hired mini bus back into our home town for a night of dancing!

I unfortunately didn't get many good quality shots, mainly because 1) my lift came mega early which I wasn't prepared for! and 2) For some strange reason I thought I'd bring my camcorder to take photos on. Bad idea. The quality is normally pretty good but it wasn't playing ball that night so instead I've had to steal someone elses photo to show you!

Unfortunately there were a few girls missing from this shot (we all kept getting lost!) but there I am, braving both my arms and legs (which is a very rare sight!).

For a more detailed low-down on the outfit and make-up, I did manage to find time to film an OOTD for you!
